State Police say someone used a blunt object to destroy a 20 dollar mailbox
at the intersection of Old West Creek Road and Blackburn Road in Shippen
Township.

The mailbox was owned by Richard Clark.

State Police are investigating yet another home invasion and drug theft.

Troopers say someone broke into the home of Ann Margret Heglen on Howard
Circle, and made off with various prescription meds. The incident occurred
sometime yesterday.

An Emporium woman was arrested for DUI. State Troopers say Becky Andres was
arrested along Route 130 in Shippen Township yesterday.

CBS "Early Show" co-anchor Julie Chen will be in Ridgway tomorrow.
A CBS film crew is in the borough today filming a segment for a "Tour my Town" segment for the show. Chen will arrive tomorrow to finish taping the segment.
The footage is expected to air in about 2 weeks, but no definite air date has been set.

Ridgway based troopers have released a report that they are investigating a
burglary in the village of Elbon. Troopers are investigating the Wednesday
incident in which 4 glass windows of a house trailer were damaged before the
trailer was entered and had a small bottle of whiskey removed. The Total
loss is estimated at two hundred and five dollars. Troopers are continuing
their investigation and are questioning four juvenile suspects.

An Emporium man died in a house fire that happened at about 3 o'clock
Thursday morning.
Elk County Coroner Lou Radkowski says 43-year-old Timothy Austin of
Sizerville Road died of asphyxiation.
State police fire marshal Dennis Haines of Montoursville is investigating
the incident.
