Paving project

Written by Alex Davis

Cameron County Endeavor

Elderly who frequently visit the Driftwood Senior Center will notice the renovation of a new parking lot during the summer months.

In a session Monday, Cameron County Commissioners voted to use Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) money on previously planned for the Pine Street sewer project in Emporium, on this project..

Cameron County Industrial Development Authority executive director Cliff Clark requested that about $2,200 be used on the center's parking lot. Drainage issues will also be addressed.

Toby Nelson will handle the construction, Clark said.

In other matters, Commissioners also:

- Renominated David Trinkley to the North Central Workforce Investment Board in Ridgway.

- Appointed Mark Johnson as the Cameron County representative on the PA Wilds Board. He succeeds Cliff Clark.

- Opened the bids for its 1994 Dodge Caravan. The lone bid of $350 was submitted by an Emporium resident.

Hey gang. I'm taking a much needed break away from it all this week. My wife and kids and I are out camping and fishing in Roulette.

I'll try to get some pics posted later on in the week.

But keep checking back.. we've got other contributors who do post on here occassionally.

Thanks !
