A Potter County soldier who died one year ago today in Iraq will have a
bridge named after him.
Representative Martin Causer introduced legislation in the state house to
re-name a bridge in honor of 22-year-old Army Specialist Michael Franklin
who died in a roadside bomb attack.
The bridge that carries Route 6 over the Allegheny River in Coudersport
would be the Specialist Mike Franklin Memorial Bridge if the state senate
approves the bill.
Franklin's parents are Bill and Tina Franklin of Coudersport.
