A Galeton man called State police after an attempted telephone scam on
Thursday. Charles Brock allegedly received a phone call from a woman
claiming to be from the US Bank telling him he was to receive one thousand
dollars for his medications and another thousand dollars in coupons in
exchange for his credit card number and expiration date. Brock told
troopers that the woman spoke with a distinct accent. Police would like to
remind residents to be wary of such calls.
