Allright. I know this post is going to offend someone. So if you are easily offended, grow some skin.

I snapped these pictures at the Roulette Park at the corner of Fishing Creek and Route 6.

I understand the need for people to feel patriotic, and for them to display American Flags.

I think it's noble and honorable.

but to let a flag get into the condition that these flags are in is deplorable.
I mean no offense to the owner of these flags. But I do mean to offer a challenge, and a chastisement. If that offends you, I apologize.

But the flag is a respected symbol of all that makes America great. And while a few bomb throwing liberals out there will fight for the right to burn it to make a point, we're talking about so-called patriots who mean well, and then forget that they even put up a flag.

US HISTORY.ORG has a list of rules and regulations for how the flag is to be cared for. Usually, a paper comes in the package with your flag that tells you how to take care of it!

To see a tattered flag flying is a disgrace. It's a slap in the face to all who have served to protect what it stands for.

By the way, in the picture of the three flagpoles, you may notice another flag in the background. It's a big flag in front of Close's Lumber on Route 6. That flag is kept in meticulous shape.

I'd love to hear your thoughts. Leave a comment.
