Coudersport State Police have charged a Ceres, NY woman with making false reports. 18 year old Charity Safford is accused of lying to police, telling them she was raped.
State Police in Coudersport cited a Roulette Man after an incident Monday morning at a stone quarry. Russell Main was working at the quarry when 37 year old Russell Brodun showed up and started taking pictures. Main confronted Brodhun, and after an exchange of obscenities, Brodhun got a BB gun. Main threw a rick at Brodhun's vehicle. Criminal Mischief charges are pending against Main, and Brodhun was cited with disorderly conduct.
Police have filed charges against 34 year old Brian Karr of Coudersport. Officers say he made false reports to law enforcement, allegedly claiming that 49 year old Tony Callahan threatened him. State Police determined that Karr was lying.
An investigation into Friday Night's Burglary at Erway's Market has yielded an arrest. 40 year old Edward Mulzet was sent to the Potter County Jail on probation violations, and is awaiting arraignment before District Judge Annette Easton. Most of the stolen money and the handgun used in the hold up have been found.
Mulzet allegedly smashed a glass door while breaking in. Reports say he used to work for Erway's.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission says it will begin accepting applications for regular antlerless deer license applications from resident hunters beginning Aug. 7, and non-residents on Aug. 21.
An Austin man has been charged with harassment. 38 year old Joseph Dynda, Jr. was allegedly involved in an incident with Lori Dynda. Police say an argument escalated to a physical confrontation.
Adelphia's creditors and bondholders have agreed on the company's emergence from bankruptcy before 2007. The deal still hasn't been inked, and a reorganization plan still must be approved.
Time Warner and Comcast say they think a sale will be completed by the end of July.
Officials say 90 percent of Coudersport's Adelphia workforce will be absorbed by Time-Warner, and not relocated.
Petitions Opposing National Fuel's Increase Available
Rep. Martin Causer says that he has petitions in his office for anyone opposing the National Fuel Gas Company’s conservation surcharge.
The gas company is planning to charge customers who use less natural gas. The money is supposedly going to be used to raise awareness about energy conservation. Causer says, “charging customers more who use less, just doesn’t make any sense.”
Petitions and formal complaints to the Public Utilities office can be filed form his offices in Coudersport or Bradford.
US Congressman John Peterson says he's dissapointed that a vote in the House fell short of the two thirds needed. The vote was to create a constitutional amendment to ban gay marriage. Peterson says he believes marriage is between a man and a woman, and he's sorry that there weren't enough votes to keep the process moving.
A Rape was reported at the Shinglehouse Park last week. According to a report from the State Police. The Incident involves a female victim and an unknown male perpetrator. The incident occured last Wednesday at 10:30 PM.
State Police were called to the scene of a collission between a Geo Storm and a Ford Mustang Sunday, July 16.
Police say that a 17 year old female was driving with a 15 year old male and a 14 year old female in the Geo when she pulled in front of a 1989 Fors Mustang driven by Paul Burgett of Emporium.
Only the 17 year old girls sustained minor injuries. She will also be facing traffic charges.
The Associated Press reports that the US Bankruptcy court has extended the deadline for the voting on the company's reorganization plan. The date was pushed back last month from June 19 to July.
Now Adelphia has until September 12 to vote on the plan.
Causer to Honor World War II Veterans this Saturday
WHAT: A ceremony honoring World War II veterans from the 67th Legislative District. Veterans will receive medallions and certificates honoring their service and sacrifice during World War II. The event is open to the public.

Harassment charges from last week are under investigation by State Police. According to a report, Four Harrison Valley residents were involved in an ongoing family dispute. Cassandra and Jeffery Gertzen and Dustin and William Skelton are all facing charges after the incident.
Three kids in Galeton were apparently involved in an incident of criminal mischief over the weekend. State Polcie say small stones were used to smash the windshield of a John Yilek's Ford Bronco.
A Shinglehouse man is facing disorderly conduct charges. Jared Clark, 24,was allegedly involved in an incident at the Shinglehouse Uni-mart. Police say Clark entered the store around 3:00am , and swore. Police say he was drunk.
A Shinglehouse man is facing charges after an incident early on July 10. According to State Police in Coudersport, Walter Gutshall, Jr. reportedly grabbed the throat of 46 year old Verna Sauers. He also reportedly steped on the back of Angela Gutshall. He's been charged with simple assault and harrassment.
An accident near Odin was reported July 10. According to State Police, Robert Avilez of Austin and Regina Streich of Emporium were both driving north on Route 872. Streich started slowing down for the vehicle in front of her when Avilez rear ended her car. Streich was taken to Charles Cole Memorial Hospital. Avilez was cited for careless driving.
The Associated Press reported last week that the deal between Time-Warner, Comcast and Adelphia may have a few problems. Adelphia's assets could be acquired by the end ot he month. Adelphia had recieved permission from the bankruptcy court to continue with the sale, despite a missing re-organization plan.
Now the hold up is approval fromt he Federal Communications Commission. Three congressman have asked the FCC to add a contingency in the deal with Comcast over a dispute with Mid Atlantic Sports Network over Washington Nationals Baseball Games. Comcast has refused to Carry MASN over TV Rights witht he Baltimore Orioles.
DCNR is providing funding to revitalize local communities and protect natural resources.
75 thousand dollars was awarded to the Galeton Borough in Potter County to develop the Center Town Park. A bocce court, a fishing dock, parking, and stream bank stabilization are some of the primary projects.
The Sennemahoning Valley Recreation Complex in Grove Township in Cameron County will pull in some funding as well. 20 thousand is set aside for renovations. A pavilion and concession stand as well as play equipment and landscaping projects are all within the budget.
The Annual Sky Diving Boogie and Pig Roast is set to take place on August 11 at the Ceres Airport. Jumping will Start on August 10 at 4PM. Spectators are welcome to watch for free.
