After reading the recent posts about the two dead bodies found in Potter County recently, I thought the names sounded familiar.

05/01/07 State police locally have accused an Eldred resident of using his SUV in an attempted assault early Saturday morning in Shinglehouse. Troopers claim 39 year old David Mesler tried to hit Kelly Jo Sherwood, with whom he resides, with his Chevrolet Blazer just east of Lincoln Street at around 3:30 a.m. Sherwood was able tojump out of the way and the Blazer hit a speed limit sign. Despite the fact that damage to the blazer was moderate, Mesler drove off from the scene and was apprehended later. After being arraigned before District Judge Barbara Easton on charges of Aggravated Assault, Simple assault, reckless endangerment , harassment, disorderly conduct and several traffic violations, Mesler was released on $15,000 signature bail provided he have no further contact with Sherwood. |
