News: 08/28/07 - Former Police Chief Found Innocent Former Austin Police Chief Shawn Foringer has been found innocent of stealing two pounds of marijuana. A jury deliberated for four hours after the three-day retrial. The chief had been accused of stealing 4 thousand dollars worth of marijuana in October of 2005 that was being held as evidence in the police station. He had reported that it was stolen during a burglary, but a state police investigation found no evidence of a break-in. Foringer is now working in the private sector. From WESB.com
