WFRM reports: Yesterday we reported that several companies have expressed an interest in locating customer call centers here in the Coudersport area, and today comes news that one of the companies may already be here. Zito Media is announcing a nationwide “soft launch” of its new internet-based phone service and has posted a notice on its website inviting potential employees interested in learning more about possible P4B customer service or marketing jobs to attend meetings at the Coudersport Theatre. Two were held today. and another, is scheduled for Monday, February 12 at 10:00 a.m., also at the theatre. Zito Media is the Rigas family company which acquired several area cable systems when Adelphia’s other assets were sold off to Time Warner and Comcast. The company is being run by James Rigas , who was not criminally charged in the accounting scandal which brought down the company founded by his father, John Rigas, and managed Adelphia Business Solutions when it was spun off from the parent company just before the cable company’s meltdown began in early 2002. The company changed its name to ABiz and provided telephone service to business and government. With the launch, Zito Media will be entering a highly competitive market. Vonnage may be the best known to consumers because of its extensive radio and tv advertising.
